Natural is always the best when it comes to hair care. An ayurvedic hair mask helps safeguard the natural shininess and texture of the hair when the ingredients are properly blended so that they can deal with specific concerns whilst also shielding your hair from damage.

The hair comes in contact with several negative triggers with each passing day, leading to breakage, dryness, and damage, and hence, it becomes vital to restoring the strength and moisture of our hair. For most of the hair concerns, dry hair is the root cause, including frizz and dullness.

In Ayurveda, hair damage or hair fall occurs because of Pitta imbalance, and therefore, a plethora of herbs and cooling oils are used in Ayurvedic hair masks. Typically ayurveda makes utilization of flowers, herbs, oils, fruits & nuts in the masks.

Here are some salutary Ayurvedic hair masks that might do wonders in adding up life to your damaged or dull hair:

    1. Amla, Shikakai, Coconut Oil Hair Mask

The combination of Amla (Indian gooseberry) and Shikakai could be the absolute go-to solution to shield your hair from breakage and split-end as both these are rich in antioxidants. Coconut oil moisturizes, fortifies, strengthens, and repairs damaged dry hair.

    How to use:

Mix together a single tablespoon of amla powder and shikakai. Add two tablespoons of coconut oil (heated). Strain the oil after cooling and massage it directly onto your scalp. After 45 minutes, rinse it with water.

    2. Fenugreek, Hibiscus, and Amla Hair Mask

Since ancient days, fenugreek has been utilized for hair growth. It aids in keeping your scalp cool, averting the occurrence of dry hair and dandruff. Hibiscus is rich in Vitamin C, A, iron. It stops hair fall and adds shine to your hair. This can make an effective hair mask together with amla.

    How to use:

To use, in lukewarm water, soak a single cup of fenugreek seed powder together with a similar quantity of amla powder and leave overnight. The next day, add hibiscus paste and use the mask; before rinsing off, leave it for 20 minutes.

    3. Reetha (soapnut) Hair Mask

Reetha has always been counted as a natural shampoo, cleanser, and conditioner. It helps in reducing hair fall and adds shine and volume to hair. Reetha is also effective in fighting dry scalp and dandruff, whilst its anti-microbial attributes make it more effective in fighting head lice as well.

    How to use:

Take a similar amount of Shikakai and Ritha and make a paste. Use this mask for 20 minutes and wash it off. Alternatively, take 100gm each of powdered Amla, Reetha, and Shikakai and boil them in two-liter water until the quantity comes to half. Strain out this water and utilize it as shampoo.

    4. Amla and Neem Hair Mask

Neem hair masks address hair problems like boils, hair lice, dandruff, etc. with their antibacterial properties whilst amla nurtures your hair.

    How to use:

Use fresh neem leaves paste that has been soused in lukewarm water overnight. Mix-up powdered amla to this, apply on hair and scalp. Before rinsing, keep it on for 20 minutes.

    5. Bhringraj Hair Mask

It is popularly known as ‘King of Herbs’. Bhringraj prevents premature graying, and other hair problems like baldness and alopecia also increase hair growth.

    How to use:

Grind the leaves and extract the juice, soak the Bhringraj leaves in lukewarm water throughout the night and use it as a mask on the hair the next day. On your hair, massage this and leave it for twenty minutes and then wash off.

Therefore, a hydrating, nourishing hair mask that aids in strengthening, softening, and restoring dry hair becomes indispensable. Nourishing hair masks could make an immense difference, adding strength and shine to your hair whilst also safeguarding hair from the jaggy external environment. Bestow your hair the needed masks with well-formulated ayurvedic ingredients.
